Lithothamnium calcareum

Reduce gastric reflux

Lithothamnium, or Phymatolithon calcareum, is a small red alga, which looks like coral. It grows on the seabed close to the coast, particularly the Belgian, Icelandic and Scandinavian coasts. In their raw state, these algae are used in biological agriculture to alkalise and enrich soil. The extract selected by Sekoya comes from Scandinavia, it is naturally rich in mineral salts and trace elements.

Mainly calcium carbonate (+80%), silica and trace elements are found. In Lithothamnium, calcium is in carbonate form. Subsequently, only a small part crosses the intestinal barrier. This is why we recommend it for decreasing an excess of gastric acid, responsible for reflux and heartburn. The lithothamnium preparation offered by Sekoya contains no additives.
